Alcatel Idol 3 4.7
In case you've forgotten, Alcatel unveiled the Idol 3 4.7" and Idol 3 5.5", a duo of affordable smartphones that were touted as the world's first truly reversible phones, meaning that you could flip them upside down and use them just like you'd normally do. While a lot of time passed since the affordable handsets got unveiled, Alcatel decided that now is the perfect time to bring the smaller Idol 3 handset to the USA and Canada.

The device will be available sometime next week unlocked straight from Alcatel's Canadian or US website, as well as on Amazon. Silling adopters will be able to snatch it for $179.99.

This sum of money gets you a 4.-inch 720p display, a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410, 1.5GB RAM, microSD card slot, 13MP rear/5MP front-facing cameras, and a 2,000mAh battery, all packed up in 7.55mm thin body. LTE connectivity spans to LTE bands 2/4/5/7/12/17, while Android 5.0.2 is running the whole show.

Oh, and if the recent Stagefright security fiasco is worrying you, fret not - Alcatel revealed that the Idol 3 4.7" will be getting a security hotfix aiming to patch the gaping Stagefright hole.
