Alcatel SHINE LITE promises flagship design for less than $200

Alcatel could have not missed the opportunity to show its new Android smartphones at such a major event like IFA. The company announced last week it will reveal several new products in Berlin, Germany, beginning today.

Even though Alcatel's press event will kick off several hours later, the company has decided to take the wraps off its SHINE LITE Android smartphone.

As the name suggests, the phone has been designed with looks in mind and that's how Alcatel is advertising the SHINE LITE. The company prides itself for providing customers who will purchase its new smartphone “premium design at a competitive price.”

The SHINE LITE features a glass meets metal design, so you'll have the best of both worlds in case you decide to go for the handset. The metal is only present on the phone's sides, while 2.5D glass coats both front and back parts of the SHINE LITE.

Specs-wise, Alcatel's SHINE LITE sports a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS display and a more than decent 13-megapixel camera on the back, which features dual-tone flash. There's also a 5-megapixel camera in the front that comes with LED flash too.

Another aspect that make the SHINE LITE worth its price is the fingerprint scanner on the back side, which offers users enhanced security.

And the best thing about the Alcatel SHINE LITE is the price. The smartphone will sell for just €199 in three different colors: black, white and gold. Alcatel also confirmed the smartphone will be launched in Europe, Asia and the Americas this month.
