ZTE Axon Max officially presented, price and features revealed (in China)
ZTE recently officially revealed the Axon Max, a new handset that was first spotted in October. Initially, we heard that the Axon Max would be a Snapdragon 810-based device, but that's not the case. Instead, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor (or at least the version that will be sold via China Telecom is).

As its name suggests, the ZTE Axon Max is a pretty big handset: it sports a 6-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels (not 1440 x 2560 pixels, as initially believed).

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the Axon Max seems to be built around a metal frame. The smartphone features LTE connectivity, dual SIM support, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, microSD card support, and a generous 4140 mAh battery. The front camera of the Axon Max is a 13 MP one, while a 16 MP camera sits on the back alongside a fingerprint scanner.

In China, the ZTE Axon Max will cost around $460 (2,999 CNY) off contract. We don't know if ZTE is planning to release the new device in other markets, but it might, since it already launched various Axon smartphones around the world (including the Axon Pro and the Axon Mini).
