Unlocked Motorola Moto Z Play now available to purchase
Back in September, the unlocked versions of the Moto Z and Moto Z Play went up for pre-order in the United States. At the time, it was noted that the mid-range, $449.99 Z Play would arrive later on than its counterpart, which debuted earlier this month for the cost of $699. If you've been waiting patiently for the non-carrier version of the Moto Z Play, it's now available to buy directly through Motorola's website.

While the Moto Z Play is weaker on paper than both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force, it does have its fair share of appeal. Namely, it allows those lured by the Moto Mods feature to get involved without the flagship price tag. Also, unlike the other two models, the Moto Z Play does include its own headphone jack, which means you can use your old audio equipment with minimal fuss.

As a reminder, the Moto Z Play gets a 5.5-inch, 1080 x 1920 display, a 16-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel shooter to the front. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage. There's also a 3510 mAh battery which, as we found in our review, keeps the lights on for a substantial length of time. In fact, during our testing, we found battery life to be almost double that of the Moto Z Force and comfortably more than twice as long as that of the Moto Z. Needless to add that what the Moto Z Play lacks in power, it certainly atones for in endurance.

If you'd like to pick up the Moto Z Play, you can do so by hitting the source.
