Samsung GALAXY Note top smartphone in Q1 based on sentiment in social networks
SocialNuggets scans social networks like Facebook and Twitter to see what people are thinking based on their comments. According to their index for smartphones, at the end of the first quarter of 2012, it was the Samsung GALAXY Note that was the on the top of the list. The cross between a phone and a tablet with its 5.3 inch screen, the phablet had the Samsung Galaxy S II trailing behind it, followed by the Apple iPhone 4S.

Yes, there are some surprises on the list such as the BlackBerry Bold 9900 which finished the quarter in 6th place. The Nokia Lumia 800 is almost neck and neck with the Apple iPhone 4S for third place. Another site that measures social sentiment on Twitter is Sentiment140. They found that 79% of tweets about the Nokia Lumia 800 were positive while 56% of tweets about the Apple iPhone 4S were negative. That compares with the 63% of tweets about Android that were negative as well.

I saw a woman in the store I work at who loves the galaxy note. I actually didn't expect this due to women having smaller hands usually. Dell must be jealous of Samsung right now. Though I would have loved to have the Dell Streak when it came out, the Galaxy Note is totally ruling it in sales and popularity.

18. Jeradiah3 posted on 23 Apr 2012, 07:07 1

Im glad someone else said that besides me lol! I wanted the Streak because im a big man (6'7" 235lbs) and I need a big phone.....BUT NOW......The Galaxy Note makes the Streak look silly based on capability, style, and features. Dell made history, but Samsung innovated the idea!

Im gonna upgrade to the Note and call it a day

it is a great device, one of the best out there. i don't find it too uncomfortable to use, and i am cursed with relatively small hands. i prefer the Nexus though mainly for it's size and stock android.

Samsung galaxy note is the best device ever made till date.

8. Sangeet posted on 23 Apr 2012, 01:03 2 4

But design wise the best device according to me is the Sony Xperia Arc S.
If you ever had held that sexy thing in your hand then only will you know that how good it is..

This device really grows on you.

Couldn't agree more.

11. shamataa posted on 23 Apr 2012, 01:46 6 1

Yep the iphone 4s is no match to the note and the upcoming GS3. It killed it.

12. GeekMovement posted on 23 Apr 2012, 01:59 6

Yes, the beautiful note! I still want one. I'm rather not surprised the Bold 9900 got a place somewhere in there. It is a very nice phone had the phone been more stable and reliable.

15. KEVlN posted on 23 Apr 2012, 02:31 8

The note really is a revolutionary device. I even found myself turned off by its size at first... Then i began to have an open mind and saw the real beauty in having a phablet. Its a shame that most reviews don't recommend it or rate it poorly.

17. 0o0blackstar0o0 posted on 23 Apr 2012, 03:10 2

They do recommend it and they don't rate it poorly ? what sites you going on Apple sites ?

Every site iv been on has a 8/10 and higher and comments by users are all 5 stars.. comment by people that cant effort it are bad their is a video on Youtube of a guy that is ranting about it and saying its crap and poo and why does it need a stylus and all these other things i asked have you owned one or ever held one and played with it and he said

"No never"

then i said how can u make a rant on it if you have not tried it :S

(he did not reply)

PhoneArena gave the International version a 7 and the US version an 8. They actually listed the size as a con in both reviews. I have used the US version and I absolutely love it, even though it is obviously handicapped by the processor change. I once thought I was going to get the GSIII when it was released, but I'm fairly certain that the Note 2 is going to be my dream phone.

24. 0o0blackstar0o0 posted on 23 Apr 2012, 09:19 1

Yeah Note2 for sure .

16. 0o0blackstar0o0 posted on 23 Apr 2012, 03:03 5

I bough it revived it and the first thing i said when i opened the box."OMFG how am i going to fit this in my pocket its massive! "

And now i wont go any smaller its perfect size best phone iv ever owned performance wise and style oh, and that screen, omg!

Oh and "2:55:00" till the countdown ends

22. KEVlN posted on 23 Apr 2012, 09:07 1

Lol this was my reaction as well. At first the thing looks ridiculously/clown-ish big. Now i wouldn't even mind going bigger if they can manage to squeeze the display in the same size. But i agree. Perfect size. Just small enough to fit in a pocket and big enough to get the best smartphone experience.

20. kshell1 posted on 23 Apr 2012, 08:34 1

It is the perfect phone for someone who wants the capabilities of a tablet, but the portability of a phone of course it has to meet in the middle size wise, but its great. If i was to get a version of it, it would be the international version not att's snapdragon bs.

23. KEVlN posted on 23 Apr 2012, 09:14

Yeah the international performs slightly better but don't be turned off by the US version because its a snapdragon. In quadrant i get over 3000 everytime and when i installed the ICS leak, I was getting well over 3500 naturally. I hardly see lag and that's at stock processor speed. Over clocked this thing would scream. (if your into that)

27. Wildmanfan posted on 23 Apr 2012, 12:17

Ah COME ON, MAN! WAKE UP VERIZON, DAMN IT! WTF is wrong with you VZW? Your breaking my heart.

28. Wildmanfan posted on 23 Apr 2012, 12:18

Verizon, if you don't get the Note by years end or an announcement by years end that you will get the Note, then you can go f**k yourself. I'm going to AT&T.
