MetroPCS temporarily bumps its $50/month plan to include 8GB of LTE data

MetroPCS, T-Mobile's prepaid brand, is currently holding a sweet promotion on one of its plans. The prepaid carrier's $50 plan now includes 8GB of LTE data per month, up from just 5GB of LTE data per month usually.

The first line will set you back $50. However, you can add up to four additional lines for just $30 per line. Another way to look at this is that you can get two lines for $80 per month, three at $110, four at $140, or five lines with 8GB of monthly LTE data at a price of $170 per month.

On top of the 8GB of LTE data, the plan also includes unlimited data at "average network speeds" once you exhaust your high-speed data bucket. Also included are unlimited talk and text, unlimited and unrestricted hotspot usage, Music Unlimited (the service that allows you to stream music from approved partners without the data counting towards you monthly quota), as well a Data Maximizer service that will reduce the resolution of video streaming to 480p in an attempt to extend the survival of your high-speed data bucket.

The $50 plan with 8GB of LTE data per month will only be around for a limited time. Unfortunately, you'll have to go and sign up for one of these plans at a physical MetroPCS location.

What do you guys think of this promotional metroPCS plan? Is anyone using more than 8GB of data per month, anyway?
