Some of you might not be aware this year we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Rocky movie. To mark this anniversary, MGM Interactive and developer Tapinator will be launching a Rocky mobile game.

Initially slated for a Q2 2016 released, the game is now expected to go live in the App Store on December 8. Rocky will be available for free, but, at least for the time being, it will remain an iOS exclusive.

According to developers, the game will feature Rocky's famous opponents, including Apollo Creed, Clubber Land, and Ivan Drago. Rocky the mobile game features “Time-Tap Fighting” play mechanics and allows you to play against opponents from across the world.

Aside from the boxing matches, players will have the opportunity to manage a boxing gym with 37 different fighters. You won't be able to play with all of them right from the beginning, but you can unlock them as you advance into the game.

On top of that, players can unlock special perks for each boxer, as well as play through five special training mini-games. If you're not in the mood to play online against another opponent, you can always train your favorite boxer with Mick, your old mentor, which in turn will boost up your fighter's abilities.
