HTC DROID Incredible 2 updates patches things up with new security and device features
Earlier today, we got wind of Verizon’s Motorola DROID BIONIC getting a maintenance update that irons out some of the handset’s kinks, but now it’s the HTC DROID Incredible 2’s turn to get its own healthy dose.

Although it doesn’t particularly bring one standout item, it’ll certainly patch things up with the mid-range device thanks to its included security and device features. Of course, it should be rolling out to handsets via the tried and true over-the-air process, but if you haven’t seen it just yet, then simply manually check for it under the Android settings menu.

For those who want to know in detail in regards to what’s included with this software update, it packs the following items:

Security features:
  • Includes Google BT/DigiNoTar security patch
  • Includes Google security page for upgrading libpng to 1.2.46
  • Includes Wi-Fi password security patch

Device features:
  • Support local video playback when in Airplane Mode
  • 5 bar Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) support
  • Improvements to clock and alarm features
  • The "Disable While Roaming" section will work accurately when roaming in Canada
  • Update Sync & Connect configuration to enable Push e-mail sync during off-peak hours
