The Huawei honor 5a was certified last month by China's TENAA agency, along with the honor 5a Plus. Today, it was the latter in the spotlight as the 5a Plus was revealed to have been put through the GFXBench benchmark test. While the TENAA visit already led to the release of specs for the phone, the GFXBench test also produced some information about the device.

The honor 5a Plus will feature a 5.5-inch screen with a 720 x 1280 resolution. The Snapdragon 615 SoC is under the hood carrying an octa-core 1.5GHz CPU and the Adreno 405 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of native storage. A 13MP rear-facing camera is aboard and an 8MP front-facing camera snaps selfies and handles video chats. Android 6.0 is pre-installed along with Huawei's EMUI user interface.

Based on the TENAA listing, we expect a 3000mAh battery to power the phone. So far, there is no word as to when the phone is going to be unveiled, but considering that the TENAA certification is now two weeks old, this could happen at any time.
