That darn hurricane has put the kibosh on the Google media event scheduled for Monday morning in New York City. But that doesn't mean that we can't continue our WNXS programming of all LG Nexus 4 all the time! So many of you guys out there have been indicating that you have your wallets ready and will pull the trigger once you have the chance to buy this phone. And now, thanks again to retailer Carphone Warehouse, we can once again confirm that the latest Nexus handset will cost you 389.95 GBP in the U.K. It is also free with certain data plans costing 31GBP ($50 USD) a month. In the states, the phone is expected to cost you $399 from the Google Play Store, and that is without a contract!

Meanwhile, Carphone Warehouse has been putting up some of the promotional materials it has on hand for the LG Nexus 4. One thing that we've spotted from the promotional materials is that the device will not be loaded with Android 4.2 out of the box as expected. While this might be a tad disappointing to some, Android 4.2 is not expected to be Key Lime Pie and we wouldn't be surprised to see the latest OS build sent out quickly after the phone is launched. After all, it is a 'Nexus' and while some of you might be saying, "after all it is an LG," we expect the LG Nexus 4 to be right at the front of the line for new updates. Having said that, it does seems strange to be introducing a new Nexus device without it having the latest OS build right out of the box, especially since Android 4.2 is supposedly part of the same event that introduces the model.

How come £390 in the UK and about £250 in America?

UK has higher taxes and VAT...thats why.
Moreover I dont think its disappointing that it'llcome out with JB on board which is still the most fluent os but I find it hard to believe that it wont have 4.2 on board. well monday is only a day away!

Isn't the event delayed due to the hurricane? Lol

still but that doesn't mean that stores don't prepare for it

N4 has 4.1 and that means the real hero of the night will be N10.

And the assault into Apple last bastion begins.

eeeenteresting point. What if 4.2 is a Jellybean update tailored for ~10" tablets? That should allay any further cries of fragmentation in the phone ranks, which are still upgrading to 4.1.

Probably just a slip up in the listing.

Or, people could just wait until it's all officially announced to pass judgement or be "disappointed". People tend to complain so much before anything is official, it's getting quite sad.

That's a pretty bad photoshop job..

Why do you think so?

If you're looking at a phone, or any rectangular object for that matter, from a side angle, the two sides will still be parallel. It's clear that the sides of the phone in that image are not parallel...

I was not talking about the credibility of the poster, just the awkward angled image.

Carphone Workshop?
What?
Geeksquad (in the bottom right of the pic) is BestBuy. I think it'll have 4.2.

Carphone Warehouse is a Best Buy subsidiary. Geek Squad has gone international. :)

Thus proving...nothing.

its promotional material. it's only as accurate as the moment it was printed. no point in getting upset about OS until we get real details from google.

Agreed. they also wont say it is going to come out with an OS that has yet to be officially announced. Grant it the phone wasn't officially announced yet.
