Vivo X Fold 2 rumored to be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 foldable
The foldable smartphone form factor is not going anywhere! Even though the adoption of these futuristic devices has been slow in the past couple of years, manufacturers continue to streamline and perfect the design of the foldable phone.

The next quite exciting news on that front comes from the Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station and puts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Vivo's next foldable model - the X Fold 2. The first X Fold debuted last April with some pretty impressive specs, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the fastest Qualcomm chip at the time, as well as a pretty slim design.

Now it seems that the successor could follow the same philosophy, according to the latest rumor, the device will retain its slim waistline, while managing to expand the battery capacity with 200mAh compared to the first model, for a total of 4,800aAh. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 sports a 4,400mAh battery.

Another first in a foldable (alongside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor) will be the aledged 120W wired fast charging support in the Vivo X Fold 2. The phone might be revealed at the upcoming MWC event in Barcelona, and judging from the launch schedule of the first model, we're looking at April 2023 as a potential release for the X Fold 2.
