Trump Mobile customers have their personal data show up on the dark web after data breach

When told about the data breach, Trump Mobile admitted, ""We have no team to handle this."

Trump Mobile, the MVNO created by Donald Trump Jr. and his brother Eric, received plenty of press starting in June 2025 when the Trump T1 Phone was announced. Despite missing several release dates, the phone was finally shipped in the middle of May this year.

Let's put politics aside. The Trump T1 Phone turned out to be a perfectly serviceable modified HTC U24 Pro, a mid-range handset powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 application processor. At its initial price of $449, the Trump T1 Phone was actually a bargain since the 512GB HTC U24 Pro was selling for about $100 higher at certain retailers.

Trump Mobile raised the price of the Trump T1 Phone from $449 to $749

But now that Trump Mobile has raised the price of the phone to $749, it can no longer be considered a great deal since Walmart is selling the 512GB HTC U24 Pro for $585. This isn't the big news of the day, but just something to consider if you are planning to shell out some big bucks for a phone from Trump Mobile that is $164 less at Walmart.

On the other hand, some Trump T1 Phone purchasers would gladly spend that extra money just because the T1 has the Trump name on the handset's rear casing. But today's news has nothing to do with the Trump T1 Phone.

Personal data belonging to 3,615 Trump Mobile customers and one Trump Organization executive were part of the data breach

Reports circulating today say that 3,615 Trump Mobile customers have been hacked, including a high-ranking Trump Organization official. That official is believed to be Eric Brunnett, vice president and chief information officer for the Trump Organization.

The executive's LinkedIn profile says that for his job, he oversees "all Information Technology and Information Security for all aspects of the Trump Organization." The Data Breach was supposedly the work of a hacking group known as BYOD, an initialism that stands for Bring Your Own Device.

The BYOD initialism is used by carriers to identify a tier of wireless service where subscribers use a phone they had previously purchased themselves. This would seem to indicate that the group behind the data breach was created to hack a wireless provider, perhaps Trump Mobile.

BYOD encourages people to visit its dark web site to view the personal data it was able to obtain

BYOD posted the data breach to its dark web leak site last week. BYOD wrote in a statement that accompanied its posting of these leaks that, when Trump Mobile was notified that it had been the subject of a data breach, the wireless firm said, "We have no team to handle this."

BYOD has encouraged people to visit its site on the Dark Web to read the data purloined from Trump Mobile. "Feel free to take a gander at it yourself, don’t be shy, we (and them) certainly aren’t stopping you,” said BYOD.

This is the data that BYOD was abole to obtain for 3,615 Trump Mobile customers

In addition, the MVNO said that anyone who hacks Trump Mobile is a terrorist. According to Straight Arrow Newsletter, an independent digital media company, the data stolen in the attack includes:

First and last names
Email addresses
Phone numbers
Home addresses
Order details with the company

One such entry included a complaint from a customer who claimed to have sent Trump Mobile $100 to reserve a Trump T1 Phone, which he has never received. Straight Arrow also had conversations with some of the victims of the Trump Mobile data breach to confirm that the information obtained by BYOD in the attack was correct.

Some of the people that Straight Arrow spoke with confirmed that the personal data obtained in the breach was correct, but refused to admit that they were Trump Mobile customers and quickly disconnected the call.

Straight Arrow requested a comment from Trump Mobile about the data breach, and has yet to receive a response. We will do the same, and if we get a response from Trump Mobile, we will update this article.

BYOD said it was able to obtain this data from Trump Mobile by infecting the device of a Liberty Mobile employee with malware. Liberty Mobile does have connections to Trump Mobile.

Remember earlier in this article when we pointed out that Trump Mobile is an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator)? Liberty Mobile handles legal obligations and customer service, along with the technical backbone for Trump Mobile.

The three executives who run Trump Mobile are the same people who own Liberty Mobile.

Straight Arrow spoke with someone from BYOD who claims that they still have access to Trump Mobile customer data. To prove it, BYOD shared an image with Straight Arrow of a screenshot showing personal data on a Trump Mobile customer.
