Limited OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition rumored to pack whopping 10GB RAM
While limited edition OnePlus smartphones with eye-catching and sometimes unusual paint jobs are obviously nothing new, the company is only now gearing up for its first marketing partnership with a premium automaker.

Technically, the fruit of this high-profile collaboration between OnePlus and sports car manufacturer McLaren will be revealed and fully detailed at a special British event on December 11, but there will be no prizes offered for guessing what’s coming.

Furthermore, MySmartPrice now claims to have exclusively learned about the key hardware difference between a no doubt droolworthy OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and standard variants of the already powerful Snapdragon 845-based device.

It appears this will be the OEM’s first model equipped with a whopping 10GB RAM, up from 6 gigs of memory on the $549 configuration, and 8 gigs of the good stuff for 6T versions currently priced at $579 and $629.

Of course, we don’t know if the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is headed to the US, even in limited numbers, with the December 11 UK debut rumored to be followed by an India expansion the next day.

No words on other markets yet, but this sounds like a momentous release nonetheless, as previous 10GB RAM-packing smartphones have only been unveiled in China with even fewer prospects of ever reaching the US.

Although competing Porsche Design Huawei devices are usually wildly overpriced, OnePlus might be planning to keep retail costs under (relative) control by pairing the aforementioned memory count with “only” 256GB internal storage space.

That’s obviously plenty of room for even the most passionate digital hoarders, but it’s also what the standard OnePlus 6T offers at a reasonable price of $629. All that remains to be seen now is the way McLaren’s brand and racing car design language will be integrated into the actual design of the special edition 6T. Who’s excited about that?
