I've always been a fan of Huawei GT series smartwatches. The design, functionality, and battery life have been second-to-none ever since I first tested the GT3 series. Now, four generations later, Huawei has lifted the curtain before the Watch GT7. And the sports tracking has gotten even crazier. But let's first talk aesthetics.

We're getting the two usual form factors in the GT series, the regular model and the Pro. The base GT7 watch arrives in 46 mm and 41 mm options and features eight colorways, including Yellow, Blue, and Pink.

The Pro model brings exotic materials to the table — such as the scratch-resistant nano-tech ceramic bezel and the titanium alloy frame. The Watch GT7 Pro is available in Yellow, Green, and Black.

All-season snow tracking with Turn and G-Force detection

The big upgrade to the already comprehensive sport tracking features is the indoor snow sports detection. The watch uses a multi-sensor array to detect skiing or snowboarding movements, even without a GPS lock.

If you take the watch to the mountain range, you can enjoy over 3,000 global ski resort maps and download them to the watch via the Huawei Health app.
The crazy stuff included the industry's first Turn detection, which tracks short and long turns based on turning radius. The second new metric is G-force detection, which measures the centrifugal forces during a turn or a sudden stop (god forbid!).
For cyclists, there are dedicated navigation tools, and the watch can also generate pre-ride climb profiles and broadcast real-time slope gradients during the ride. If you get tired peddling, the watch will encourage you with proactive haptic and voice feedback.

Health tracking receives a major software overhaul via upgraded Health Insights. A daily Morning Briefing synthesizes sleep quality, heart rate variability (HRV), active calories, and emotional state into a simplified Physical Readiness score classified into five recovery levels.
The Huawei Watch GT7 comes equipped with the usual sleep tracking, which detects sleep stages, duration, heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), breathing rate, and snoring thanks to Huawei's TruSense and TruSleep systems.
Battery life and new contactless payment features
Huawei was the first company to bake silicon-carbon batteries inside its wearables in the GT6 lineup. The GT7 series builds on that with high-silicon stacked batteries that can power the watches for up to 21 days on a single charge.
There's another new feature launching with the GT7 series. The new watches add support for contactless payments via Curve Pay. All models are compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones.
The Huawei Watch GT 7 Series will be available first in the UK from 2 September 2026, with the regular GT 7 starting at £279.99 (around $378) and the GT 7 Pro available from £379.99 (around $513).
