Gboard gets smart replies for Facebook Messenger, Allo, other apps
XDA reports that the feature is still in development and requires Gboard to have access to your notifications. Setting up the feature requires expanding a notification that has a quick reply box and tapping the suggestion to enable the feature in Gboard’s autocomplete bar. Now, Gboard is gaining the ability to send smart replies in various messaging apps, including Allo, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and others.
The smart reply feature works in the aforementioned apps, but it also supports a couple more, as discovered by the folks over at XDA, who performed a teardown of the latest update for Gboard. Here's the full list:
- Android Messages
- Facebook Messenger
- Facebook Messenger Lite
- Google Allo
- Google Hangouts
The feature will roll out widely once development on it is finished.
