At 25% off, the Galaxy A16 is a budget winner in my book

Earlier today, I spotted a fantastic $90 discount on the Moto G 5G (2024). But if you stretch your budget just a bit, I’ve got something much better to show you. The Galaxy A16 is down to an irresistible price on Amazon for Black Friday weekend, and you can grab one for $50 off its original price.
That brings the budget Samsung phone just under $150, which is an incredible (and rare) offer if you ask me. You’re getting plenty of bang for your buck here, too: the Galaxy A16 is one of the few sub-$200 phones with a Super AMOLED display.
Yep, this Android phone packs a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen that, frankly, offers great visuals for the price. And while the refresh rate is capped at 90Hz, I wouldn’t call that a huge problem. What’s important here (besides the AMOLED panel) is the brightness — this fella reaches about 750 nits, offering pretty decent outdoor legibility.
Under the hood, this option features an Exynos 1330 chipset, handling everyday tasks mostly fine. That said, you’ll probably notice occasional micro-stutter here and there, especially when you open many apps at once.
The camera received some improvements over last year’s Galaxy A15. The camera system is the same as last year (50MP main, 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro), but photos have significantly more realistic colors. Also, as evident from the camera samples in our Galaxy A16 review, it offers better zoom quality.
Unlike Motorola’s Moto G 5G (2024), this bad boy will get an impressive six years of support. Although you probably won’t keep the phone for six years, it’s nice to see such a big commitment from Samsung.
So, what do you think? If the Galaxy A16 sounds like the better deal to you, this is definitely the time to get it at one of its lowest prices. Mind you, it has dropped to a lower price only once so far, and that was way back in July. Grab this $50 discount at Amazon while it lasts.
