Don't worry if the Fossil Sport shows up at a higher marked-down price of $149 on the company's official US website for you, as a neat promo code will shave off an additional 45 bucks or so. You just have to remember to enter "LETSGO" in the promo code box found in your digital shopping bag before checkout.
As you can imagine, the drastic price cut doesn't apply to all those snazzy new color options. It doesn't apply to a few old paint jobs either, but you still get a little bit of choice. Namely, you can go for light blue, red, or neon flavors in a single 41mm size with sporty silicone bands in tow.
Obviously, the recently unveiled Fossil Gen 5 lineup has a number of extra tricks up its sleeve compared to the 2018-released Sport. But apart from a built-in speaker, you probably won't notice any big features missing here. In exchange for a little over a Benjamin, you get everything from untethered GPS connectivity to heart rate monitoring, NFC for Google Pay functionality, in-depth activity tracking, smartphone notifications from both Android and iOS, music storage, a built-in microphone, and yes, even a completely swimproof design.
Granted, the battery life is far from impressive, but the same most likely goes for the $295 and up Fossil Gen 5, which shares a not-so-frugal Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor with this incredibly affordable Fossil Sport smartwatch.
