Apple's grand plans for the 20th anniversary of the iPhone already have fans.

If everything goes according to plan and the supply chain cooperates, then new Apple CEO John Ternus will announce the iPhone 20 Pro next year to celebrate 20 years of iPhone. Apple has grand plans for this phone, and apparently those plans are already proving popular with you, the potential customers.

The iPhone 20 Pro

Long story short, the iPhone 20 Pro will have an edge-to-edge display unlike any seen before. Borderless but without curved edges, the panel will also lack any cutouts for punch holes, notches, Dynamic Island, or anything else in the same vein.

If other plans also come to fruition, then the iPhone 20 Pro might not feature a speaker grille or even any buttons.

Apple has your attention

In a recent poll, we asked you if a phone with such a display would be of any interest to you, if it would factor into your next smartphone purchase at all. The results paint a very promising picture for Apple.

Over 40 percent of you said that you would get a phone like this immediately, no questions asked. Meanwhile, 14 percent of voters said that such a smartphone would heavily skew their purchasing decision. Clearly, I’m not the only one yearning for a cutout-free smartphone display.

A little under 19 percent of respondents, on the other hand, said that they were pretty neutral on the entire thing. Lastly, almost 27 percent of users said that they could not care less about a phone with a display like this one and that they just wanted good hardware powering their devices.

What about you? Would a cutout-free display on a smartphone matter to you as much as it matters to many others?

Android phones will follow suit

According to recent reports, Android manufacturers are working on their own such displays. As mentioned earlier, these are not like the edge displays of old, but a novel way of making the display feel like it’s floating above the phone.

Apple has my attention too

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really dislike notches, punch holes, and other cutouts on a phone’s display. This is the worst thing that Apple ever popularized in the industry and I’m willing to switch to team Apple if the iPhone 20 Pro fixes this mistake.

I might not need to, though, given that other phone companies are following suit.
