Apple might release iPadOS 16.1 alongside new hardware very soon
iOS 16 brings a slew of new features to your iPhone. You now have better lock screen customization and the ability to edit and unsend messages in iMessage. Your phone now also supports Apple passkeys, giving you a more secure way to log into your favorite sites and apps without even using passwords.

However, chances are that your iPad is still running the good old iPadOS 15. And you are probably wondering when your beloved tablet will receive the latest version of Apple’s iPadOS. The tech giant announced that it will release iPadOS 16 in October, but we didn't know exactly when.

A new rumor coming from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman himself suggests that Apple could release iPadOS 16.1 on October 24th, 2022. The tech giant is also likely to release iOS 16.1 to iPhones on this date in order to keep iPadOS's version numbers consistent with iOS's.

Furthermore, Gurman hinted that the new iPadOS might come alongside new hardware. As Gurman stated, in the past, Apple has released new products on the week of its earnings calls in October — which this year will be on October 27th.

According to the rumor mill, Apple will introduce a revamped M2 iPad Pro along with a redesigned standard iPad and a couple of new Macs by the end of the year. At first, we expected the tech giant to do that via an event in October, but later, Mark Gurman hinted that Apple would probably announce its new hardware via a press release.

The chances of Apple releasing new products very soon are actually high. As we reported in September, Logitech accidentally leaked the two yet-unannounced iPad Pro versions on its Crayon Digital Pencil page. We guess we'll soon find out if the rumor mill is correct and Apple is indeed cooking something for us on October 24th.
