Early Prime Day deal makes Amazon's Echo Show 5 a can't-miss bargain (with no Prime needed)
Amazon's smallest and most affordable Alexa-powered smart display is way more affordable than usual before next week's Prime Day extravaganza.

In case you're wondering, yes, I believe it's very wise to purchase Amazon's smallest smart display before the Prime Big Deal Days 2026 event kicks off on October 6, especially if you're not a Prime member and have no intention of becoming one anytime soon.
That's because the 2023-released Echo Show 5 is marked down by a cool 40 bucks from a $99.99 list price right now, and at least for the time being, there are absolutely no strings attached to this killer new deal. Now, it is important to point out that the Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) has been on sale at an even lower price a few times before, but I highly doubt that will happen again in the future.
Amazon, remember, was only one of the many major tech companies that recently made essentially all their products more expensive than ever before, and although the latest Echo Show 5 edition received the smallest price hike of its family, it just seems unlikely that this pre-Prime Day $40 (or 40 percent) discount will be further improved anytime soon.

It's much more likely that a fourth-generation Echo Show 5 will be unveiled in the near future, but as tempting as it might be to wait and see what kind of upgrades such a product would bring to the table, the odds of seeing a new and improved miniature smart display with built-in Alexa assistance hit a $60 or $70 price point in the coming months are clearly microscopic.
Bottom line, I strongly advise you to consider a purchase today, especially if you can't afford the heavily discounted first-gen Echo Show 11. The Echo Show 5, of course, is nowhere near as powerful as its big brother in terms of audio performance, nonetheless promising to deliver "deep bass and clear vocals" in those rooms around your house where you might not need to blast your favorite tunes at max quality. Oh, and you even get a decent 2MP camera for video calls and checking in on your bedroom when you're at work or on vacation.
