The announcement date of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has been officially confirmed by the company. Version 2.0 of the bezel-less handset will break cover on September 11, a day earlier than the supposed unveiling of Apple's new iPhones.

The news comes straight from Chinese website Weibo, where an official poster/teaser was uploaded by the Asian manufacturer.

Xiaomi hasn't really confirmed anything else about the upcoming handset, but the Mi Mix 2 was allegedly tested on GFXBench. The listing reveals a few of its most important specs - the Snapdragon 835 chipset and 6 GB of RAM, with the device supposedly shipping with Android 7.1.1 out of the box.

Rumor has it that the smartphone will boast a massive 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2540x1440 pixels, a dual-camera composition at the back, and support for 3D facial recognition.
