Xiaomi Mi2S launched, beats the Samsung Galaxy S4 in benchmarks
Xiaomi’s phones have been one of China’s big success stories. Affordable yet extremely powerful, Xiaomi launched its flagship Mi2 just a few months ago, and today it is refreshing it with the new Xiaomi Mi2S device with a Snapdragon 600 processor optimized so well that it beats the Samsung Galaxy S4 in synthetic benchmarks.
The Xiaomi Mi2S runs on a Snapdragon 600 with a quad-core 1.7GHz Krait 300 processor. The device scored a whopping 25,913 on AnTuTu, and that’s actually more than the 25,446 score of the Galaxy S4.
That places the Mi2S on top of the productivity charts, something that is definitely hugely impressive given how much cheaper the device is than the S4. Speaking of price, the Xiaomi Mi2S comes in two models: a 16GB one with an 8-megapixel camera selling for 1999 yuan or $322 off contract, and a 32GB one with a 13-megapixel camera selling for 2299 yuan or $370.
What’s notable about the Xiaomi phones is that they run on the MIUI custom Android ROM. The rest of the specs of the Mi2S include 2GB of RAM, and a 4.3-inch 720p display.
