The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S was unveiled this afternoon in Shanghai (early morning in the U.S.) and it is obvious that Xiaomi used the Apple iPhone X as a stalking horse. Several times during the event, Xiaomi compared its new muscle phone to Apple's tenth anniversary handset. Of course, Xiaomi says that the Mi Mix 2S takes better pictures, runs longer on a single charge, and gives video game players a better experience than the iPhone X.

As expected, the Mi Mix 2S is equipped with a four sided ceramic body that includes Series 7000 aluminum. It will be available in Ceramic White or Black. The Snapdragon 845 mobile platform drives the device, and the handset managed to score a whopping 277,178 on the AnTuTu benchmark test. The LCD display is 5.99 inches in size, with a 1080 x 2160 resolution. That works out to an aspect ratio of 18:9. There is no notch on the device which means that the front-facing camera will remain embedded in the bottom bezel.

The dual camera setup on the back of the phone features a pair of 12MP sensors. One is a wide angle lens, while the other is a telephoto camera. The rear cameras are equipped with OIS and thanks to AI, camera settings are adjusted based on the lighting. The AI feature helps the phone process the bokeh effect that everyone wants to see on their portraits. It also detects currency and text, and will provide real time currency conversions. The cameras use the Sony IMX363 sensor with a "massive 1.4um micron pixel size." There is a portrait mode along with the capability to record slow motion and super slow motion.
