What were the most popular places to shoot an Instagram picture in 2012?
Forgetting for a moment the uproar that was created when Instagram briefly changed its ToS, and the subsequent class action suit that was filed, Instagram is a pretty popular app. Purchased last year by Facebook, Instagram had 30 million users on iOS alone in April. Once the Android app became available, 50 million new accounts were created for those using a device powered by Google's open source OS. That brought the total number of users to 100 million, a number that is certainly much larger now.

Now that Instagram is about to close out 2012 as a well-known name ("Twitter is stupid and Instagram is Twitter for people who can't read," quips Kat Denning's Max on CBS' hit comedy 2 Broke Girls), the site has released a Top Ten list of the most photographed places on Instagram this year. With more than 100,000 pictures at the location, the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand was on top. This includes self-portraits, group shots, pictures of statutes and architecture.

Another Thailand spot was second, the Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok. A more familiar name-Disneyland-was third, while New York City's Times Square was fourth. In fifth was AT&T Park in San Francisco, home of the World Champion San Francisco Giants. Winning the titile for the second time in three years certainly brought millions of fans to the stadium this past season.

In sixth place was Los Angeles International Airport (the famous LAX). Speaking of  L.A., Diodger Stadium was next. The iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris was eighth while Staples Center in L.A. was ninth. Rounding out the list is another Los Angeles landmark, the Santa Monica pier.

How many of the Top Ten locations did you snap an Instagram picture from in 2012?
