Vivo X5 Pro now official with front-facing camera that takes 32MP pictures
The Vivo X5 Pro was officially unveiled by Vivo this morning, and while there is no glowing logo, the device still offers some very interesting features. The phone is equipped with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED 2.5D glass that has a resolution of 1080 x 1920. The 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC is under the hood, featuring an octa-core CPU. On board you will find 2GB of RAM and the 13MP rear snapper is protected with sapphire glass.

As expected, the 8MP front-facing camera can take pictures interpolated to 32MP. A special eye-recognition technology is built in to the front-facing camera, and a 2300mAh battery keeps the lights on. Android 5.0 is pre-installed with Funtouch OS 3.0 running on top. The handset has an aluminum build and supports dual SIM cards and 4G LTE connectivity.

The Vivo X5 Pro is priced at the equivalent of $443. Check out a promotional video for the new model, along with some still shots, below.

Thanks for the tip!

Funtouch OS is Vivo's UI name on top of Android.

2300 mah? On a 1080p good luck wall hugging. Price is not right should be around $300 if the want to sell it. There's a lot of old flagship device that are better performing than this one.

I don't get it how can a 8 mp shooter take 32 ones a program no i don't buy it since the pics of one phone that supposed to take 50mp photos sucks and have less pixels even than a 13mp one.

So, they take Bayer matrix with 8M so called pixels, that actually consists of 2M red, 2M blue and 4M green subpixels (1) and turn it into 32M pixel picture, with 96M subpixels? Nice try.

(1) In case you are wondering - ALL camera manufacturers use Bayer matrix (up to and including high-end Canon and Nikon models) except for a few "experimental" designs and all of them have marketing departments that calculate total pixel resolution as a sum of all subpixels.
