Verizon to offer BlackBerry Bold 9650 by direct fulfillment; order June 3rd, in stores June 10th
With Sprint customers already able to order their BlackBerry Bold 9650 online as we reported nearly two weeks ago, Verizon customers looking to upgrade their Tour 9630 were waiting for Big Red to launch their version of the phone. Well, Verizon customers, we have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that the nation's largest carrier has not yet announced a launch date for the phone. The good news is that based on a leaked screen shot of some internal communications, Big Red will start to accept direct fulfillment orders for the  Bold 9650 on June 3rd and you will be able to pick up the handset one week later on June 10th, at your local store. For those who work for camera-sensitive firms, a version of the phone without a camera will be available for order via direct fulfillment on the same day.

Just to refresh your memory, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is equipped with a 2.4 inch display with resolution of  480 x 360 and support for 65,000 colors. If you buy the version with a camera, you will get a 3.2MP shooter with flash. The QWERTY keyboard remains the same as the one on the 9630, but the trackball has been retired and replaced with an optical trackpad. Memory is well taken care of with 512MB of RAM and ROM,and don't forget the handset's Push-to-Talk capabilities. As soon as we hear some word on pricing, we will pass it along to you.
