Verizon-bound Nokia 2V spotted online; release could be imminent

To be specific, the Verizon-bound Nokia 2V was spotted in an online listing for the first time. This would indicate that the prepaid phone’s release could be just around the corner. Moreover, it confirms the previous expectation; this is simply a rebranded Nokia 2.1.

For those of you that are unaware of the latter phone’s specifications, the Nokia 2V will make its debut with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 on the inside, which itself will be paired with the Adreno 308 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Unsurprisingly, this combination also means the smartphone will ship with Android Go pre-installed, more specifically the Oreo edition rather than the newer Pie version.

The budget offering also sports a 5.5-inch 16:9 display, a large 4,000mAh battery, and 8GB of internal storage, while completing the whole package will also be an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

In regards to the Nokia 2V’s release date, no official confirmation has been provided as of yet. But with the flagship Nokia 9 PureView’s introduction expected to take place later this month, there’s a high chance HMD Global will seize the opportunity to announce its partnership with Verizon.
