Verizon Pixel and Pixel 2 pairs receive new OTA update, brings security improvements

Verizon has released a new update to Google's Pixel phones. The latest software upgrade should bump the version of the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 2 XL to OPM1.171019.011

The update brings the Android security patch for the month of December. At the time of writing, the Android Security Bulletin doesn't contain any information about the December patch, so there's no way of telling what issues have been addressed.

Verizon's changelog also states that the update includes a fix for the KRACK Wi-Fi exploit. The KRACK vulnerability was addressed with the November security patch which was also rolled out by Verizon, so it's a bit bizarre to see it mentioned here.

The update is available OTA, but it might need some time to reach all compatible devices. You can try to install it manually by going to Settings > System > System Update. As always, make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding with the patch.
