Under Armour brings a suite of fitness apps to Samsung Gear devices

Samsung today announced a partnership with sports clothing and accessory brand Under Armor (UA). The collaboration will see a handful of Under Armour's finest fitness apps make their way to the Gear Fit 2, Gear S2, and the Gear S3, the two companies revealed.

Four apps by UA will launch for Samsung wearables this year as part of the Under Armour Fitness suite, including UA Record, MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun, and Endomondo. These apps will provide users with means to track their nutrition, daily workouts, running routes, as well as other important stats essential for meeting their daily fitness goals.

The apps will boast a handful of features exclusive to Samsung's wearables, including map and route display and untethered GPS tracking in UA Record, water consumption logging and quick-add calories in MyFitnessPal, challenges and untethered tracking in MapMyRun, and challenges in Endomondo.

UA Record, MapMyRun, and MyFitnessPal are already available on the Gear Fit 2, with Endomondo set to arrive later this month, while their Gear S2 and Gear S3 versions will see a release later this year, according to Samsung.

So your ass can sit on the couch and play with your watch? These are apps for people that leave the house. That's are healthy and actually do things.

My post wasn't being negative and insulting at all, let alone to a specific person. Maybe being nasty and crass was how you were raised, but it certainly wasn't the norm in the household I was raised in.

Sorry, but you are negative about things often and insulting often to people and nasty to people. Hypocrite for sure.

No.it does not. That's what your phone is for. Smart wearable were not meant to replace a phone, it is to supplement them. WTF you need FB on a tiny display where typing isn't even easy. As big as the GS3 is compared to that tiny ads you watch from Apple, iris dismal to type on. Even with the nicer option to actually take your finger and write each word, which is better than T9 typing, it still sucks. But it comes in handy in a pinch. So.i am looking forward to this spring and riding with my GS3 and testing out the features more. Apps on a wearable for anything more than a glance and read is . I don't think you even understand what wearable are for

I'll translate what you wrote; "the Gear watches have a horrible app selection, but instead of just admitting that, I'll stubbornly stick to the lie that the pathetic selection that IS offered is perfect." Jeebus H Christ you android/Sammy lovers are a stubborn, dimwitted bunch.

"you android/Sammy lovers are a stubborn, dimwitted bunch" And there it is. Thought you are not a insulting person and was not brought up that way.

I'm not insulting, I'm stating facts; android users are on average of a lower education and income level that iOS users.

I really like the looks of the gear 3 and all the things I read about it, but I just can not get into the smartwatchs.

This is a good sign that non apple/android watch is getting apps released by big companies like UA, Spotify etc

That was what I was waiting for. Now we just need offline music for Spotify, then I'm in.

YES! Please bring MapMyRide to the GS2 or GS3 and I will never have to carry my phone on a ride ever. https://flic.kr/p/QSmxJo - full route with speed/times https://flic.kr/p/QKneM6 - a little closer view of the map. Awesome ride to Six Flags Great America. Nice to see Samsung getting some support from a good brand. UA seemed to have came from out of nowhere and got popular, especially thanks to Stephen Curry. They actually have real nice clothes too. Got a chance to visit their outlet store and the sales were unbelievable. Just sharing my second longest ride of the year
