T-Mobile stops the rollout of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for its Galaxy Note 8
All major carriers in the United States announced they have successfully deployed the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8. However, if you've bought your Samsung phablet from T-Mobile, you might be in for an unpleasant surprise.

If you did not receive the update in early April when T-Mobile kicked off the Android Oreo roll-out, then chances are you won't be able to upgrade your Samsung Galaxy Note 8 yet.

The US carrier recently confirmed that the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which was initially available for download on April 1, has been put on hold on April 3.

According to T-Mobile, the update is currently unavailable, so don't try to force pull it on your Note 8. Even worse, the carrier doesn't mention an ETA, so there's no telling when the Android Oreo roll-out will commence.

In other news, T-Mobile recently delayed the release of Android Oreo for LG V30, although all other US carriers have already outed the update a long time ago.

I am on T Mobile and got my Note8 update on day one. However, there seems to be some slight abnormalities throughout with multiple tasks. For one, several albums were missing from my photo gallery for a bit and reappeared on their own. Another, my screen brightness was going up and down on its own. Several other small glitches as well. I assume T Mobile is working on it. I hope so.

I'm having an issue with bluetooth audio, i consistently have to disconnect and reconnect my headset to be able to hear audio from any app.

I got the update the day it was released and I wish I didn't. The battery life was bad initially until I restarted the phone and even then, I'm not getting the 4 hours on screen time I was getting before. Also, there's a MAJOR issue with the moisture detection being OVERLY sensitive. If your hands are a LITTLE damp, and your pinky finger is resting near the charger port in portrait mode, or your palm is close to it in landscape mode, the phone will freeze, minimize into the upper left corner and restart. BUT! Its a super quick restart, like 10 sec back to lock screen. Then the moisture notification comes up. You try to swipe it away, the phone then restarts again and then it's fine. Very annoying. Glad they stopped the rollout and that means they're working on it. I don't even understand how something like that got past them. Before I realized what the culprit was, I ended up Factory Restarting twice thinking it was a cache issue or files not settling right, but it's pretty documented on the Samsung forums. Only benefit I've gotten from Oreo is I can send gifs through the GBoard app finally. Whoo-hoo.

Hmmm I guess I'm not the only one with issues and I was just about to hard reset the entire phone. Here are my issues so far: 1. Bluetooth disconnects and reconnects on it's own. 2. Phone freezes and restarts, or sometimes doesn't restart and I have to force it to restart. It's restarting at the moment as I'm typing this!!! UGHHHHH!!!! 3. Entire albums on the SD card does NOT show up when the phone restarts on it's own. I'll have to do another restart to get those albums back. 4. The theme resets to the original Samsung screen, including the GBoard that I've applied. 5. The emojis doesn't work the first time on the GBoard. Gotta select it twice. 6. The Google translate app keeps closing every time I'm copying a text to get it translated directly from the messaging app. 7. The phone on initial plug in states a longggg charging time till full but if you disconnect and reconnect the charging time goes down. . Not sure if this is bc of the update or something else but the Samsung internet seems to be slowerrrrr... Hopefully everything gets fixed soon. I hate the freezing and restarting most!

Actually, all of the things you listed (except the translate thing - I have it set that if I copy text, Translate detects it as such and a little icon comes up to go straight to the app, and my themes are okay) affect me too! I'm realizing that's why my speaker kept disconnecting over the weekend. Check your hands with regards the freezing, restarting. If it's a LITTLE moist (heh) that's when it happens.

I get the same pop up from translate but if I press on it I get an error message and the app closes. I have to copy, open up the app and then paste it directly there. Using the pop-up gives me the error message. I'm from Houston so it's always humid down here. Hopefully that's not causing the freezing/restarting problems bc my hands are cracked dry.

AT&T Note 8 here, iv'e been having issues with Oreo as well. Most of the time the issue is with going into landscape mode. Before Oreo, it would be instant, now if an app has been open for a bit, itll lag about 5 seconds before changing. No bueno. Just gotta wait on a new update now lol.

I got the update on April 1st, but within a few hours the phone was completely unusable, the Bluetooth was buggy, battery wasn't FAST charging anymore, and worse of all, every 2 to 3 hours I would get software errors - 20 to 30 grey boxes with system.android. whatever has stopped... I was able to deal with it for about a week but eventually couldn't take it, called T-Mobile and they had a replacement for me in about a day without Oreo. But I do miss the features that Oreo brings and can't wait for the update so my new phone will get Oreo as well.
