'Tis the season! Samsung marks unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 edge for any carrier at $170 down, deal ends today

The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.

Back in the summer, Samsung started selling unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 edge directly on its US website, for $670 and $770, respectively. The kicker is that those are denoted with "U" after the model number (for "unlocked"), which in this case means that they join the handful of unlocked phone models that are sold SIM-free, and would work on all major US carriers out of the box, including Verizon and Sprint.

Unlocked phones sold in the US are typically of the GSM variety that can be hooked to AT&T or T-Mobile's networks only. Apple's iPhones, Google's Pixels, and Samsung's direct-sale new Galaxies are the notable exception, so you may be happy to hear that Samsung has marked those two puppies down significantly.

The Galaxy S7 goes for $499.99, while the S7 edge is $599.99, so you can grab them for $170 below what you would have paid before. For comparison, the S7 edge on AT&T is still $795, but the deal ends today, so hurry up if you want to score.
