T-Mobile joins the 3 Kings after signing deal with the NBA's Miami Heat
T-Mobile and Miami Heat superstar Dwayne Wade had been working together on television commercials and promotions. Now that the 2006 NBA Finals MVP has brought a couple of his buddies to South Beach by the names of LeBron James and Chris Bosh, the carrier decided that it was a good idea to be associated with a team that is certainly going to be one of the most watched squads over the next few years.
The multi-year deal makes T-Mobile the official carrier of the Miami Heat and the American Airlines Arena. The partnership will include special in-game features, signs in the Arena, exposure on both the English and Spanish Miami Heat radio network, social media integration and other on-line promotions. During three special home games in March, the mobile operator will sponsor the team’s special "Noche Latina" promotions.
Perhaps T-Mobile was the invisible 6th man for Miami on Wednesday night as the Heat beat Philadelphia on the road, led by Wade's 30 points. The first victory for the new look Heat came on the same day that the carrier announced the November 3rd launch of its new flagship model, the T-Mobile myTouch 4G.
