Android 8.0 Oreo update for the T-Mobile LG V30 is halted again

While one update for T-Mobile customers will resume tonight, another had the breaks applied to it on Saturday. As we told you yesterday, those with the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will start receiving the update to Android 8.0 beginning at 10pm PDT tonight. The update was first disseminated on April 1st and stopped two days later. If all goes to plan, 39 days will have elapsed between T-Mobile's halt of the update, and its resumption this evening.

And that brings us to today's news. Last month, T-Mobile twice delayed the Android 8.0 update for its LG V30 variant. The carrier put the blame on LG, and tried again earlier this month. At first, the update could be downloaded only by connecting the phone to a computer and using LG Bridge. T-Mobile eventually started pushing out Android 8.0 for the LG V30 OTA.

But now, the carrier says that on May 12th, it had to put a temporary halt on the update once again. Apparently, T-Mobile was receiving reports from subscribers complaining that the new OS build was filled with bugs. The nation's third largest carrier says that it does not know when the update will be available to be pushed out again. When it does happen, T-Mobile customers with the LG V30 will find their device re-branded as the LG V30 ThinQ. Along with the new name will come AI capabilities for the camera that allow the handset to analyze the subject of a photo and the lighting conditions. This will automatically adjust the camera settings to improve the look of the photograph.

I got it 2 days ago. So far so good aside from the horrible ThinQ branding upon start up

I got this last week. Most notable bug I found was on the camera. It stops working at times on manual mode and I cannot open the panorama mode.

You know...I'm on a G6 and still waiting on Oreo. I think I'm just going to assume it'll never happen AND say "screw you and sayonara, LG".

Ha Ha! Buy a iPhone X and Put the beta versions on it! Updates at least 2 times a month. No carrier involved!
