Sony launches the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact in India

Sony's new flagship – the Xperia Z3 – was presented at this year's IFA in Berlin and, even though it doesn't sport an enormous set of upgrades compared to its 6-month old predecessor, its sleek design and impressive battery life still managed to gather enough interest to be considered an anticipated smartphone for 2014. Together with it, Sony announced the Z3 Compact, which is a smaller variant of the flagship that still carries most of its top-notch hardware and, according to our battery test, is currently the king of usage time, when it comes to sub-5” smartphones.

Today, Sony launches the two handsets in India, where the price tag for the flagship Z3 is $849 (₹51,990), and the one for the Compact - $734 (₹44,990). They are listed on Flipkart, though their status is still at "coming soon". Currently, one could find links for the Xperia Z3 in 3 colors – black, white, and copper; and for the Z3 Compact in 4 colors – black, white, orange, and green (links below).

It is yet unknown when the new models will be arriving to the US, though, Sony's US website lists the devices as "coming soon", and the recent price slash of the Xperia Z2 on US soil suggests that its arrival may actually be in the near future, as compared to, you know, Xperia Z1 Compact's "soon".
