Sony Xperia Z5 Compact size comparison: just how “compact” is it?

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is official and it is keeping Sony's concept of a no-compromise "mini" flagship alive! With the world's fastest autofocusing camera on board, signature OmniBalance design with metal accents, fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 810 & 3GB of RAM, fans of the smaller Xperia certainly have something to be excited about.

Design-wise, the Xperia Z5 Compact doesn't stray much away from Sony's Xperia Z3 Compact in terms of exterior design or dimensions. Clocking in at 5.00 x 2.56 x 0.35 inches (127 x 65 x 8.9 mm) and tipping the scales at 4.87 oz (138 g), the Xperia Z5 Compact is quite the stealthy, little device.

How does it fare against its rivals, like the iPhone 6, Galaxy S6, LG G4? Let's check out!

Just like Z3 C was best Android of 2014, Z5 C will be best of 2015. I'm really hyped for it, if they get camera right this time I'm sold, the battery, IP, small package, nice specs, it has everything I could ask for. I'm really curious what are the bezels made from, some websites say it's plastic, some say that aluminium...

The bezel is plastic on compact, aluminum on regular Z5 and stainless steel on the Z5 premium.

The only critique I have is that they should've made it a 1080 display at that size. It's a really good device though and with the specs it will fly. By far looks like the best compact phone right now.

i dont think a 1080p display is necessary at that size

The fact that even majority of tech geeks here uses a case, it just shows that even for the average person its probably alot higher around 70%.

The only mini flagship that can survive in the storm of the flagships.

Amazing how the screen is a mere .10" smaller than the iPhone 6's, yet the phone is so significantly smaller.

That's not amazing, thats just Apple sucking worse than HTC in terms of sizing and bezels.

They should have made it bigger but less fat.

Why is every one obsessed with how slim their phone is. Had the made it bigger but skinnier then people would be yelling about the screen bezels. There is no win, but in my opinion Sony got it right with this phone. I would rather phones not be soo skinny so they can house bigger batteries.... Just my 2 cents......

They could have made it taller but thinner and keep the same battery IMO. Taller is the least offensive, followed by thickness, and width is probably the most offensive. So instead of the 127mm height, they should Have went 128mm or 129mm and slim that chunky 8.9mm down to 7.9mm or lower. Just like body shapes and style, talk and slim beats short and stocky.

then people would just be screaming "those bezelsss" or something like that IMO this phone is thick, yes, but it's okay for such a small width and height and usually people look at the phone from the front so bigger bezels wont feel as good anyway

Xperia Z Compact is an awesome phone. I hope Sony continues releasing it and most importantly does not increase it in size.

Wish they would've given it 3gb of ram and a 1080 display.
