Sony Xperia Z Ultra vs Galaxy Mega 6.3 vs Ascend Mate: specs comparison of the Goliaths
It is quite evident that Sony's newly-announced Xperia Z Ultra phablet literally dwarfs the competition, but not in size only, as was the case with the Galaxy Mega 6.3, but specswise as well.

Still, it is worth staging a battle of the Goliaths, or the phones with 6"+ displays, to show who's who in this up and coming market niche. If you are wondering where is the Galaxy Note II phablet - well, at 5.5" it is literally overshadowed by these monsters, and the Note 3 with its rumored larger display seems to be a batter fit for a comparison when it gets announced.

Right off the bat we notice how much thinner the Xperia Z Ultra is than even the 8 mm Mega 6.3. At 6.5 mm it is the thinnest Full HD smartphone out there, and also just a tad heavier than the other two, despite the much larger screen, the glass chassis and the metal fram around the Triluminous display, which also has the largest pixel density of them all.

Design superiority aside, the Z Ultra also emerges victorious when it comes to sheer horsepower, with its 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800, which will be melting the benchmark charts very soon. The only disadvantages it has before the other two is the lack of LED flash, and the smaller battery, which, however, is still able to provide above average endurance results, and even record audio playback at 120 uninterrupted hours.

When we add the ability for direct screen input with a regular pen or even a pencil, rather than a need for a dedicated stylus, the Z Ultra is clearly the winner here, despite that we don't have yet the all-important pricing scheme. What do you think?
