Manufacturer Doogee has been developing rugged smartphones for years now. With that amount of expertise, the company is comfortable with not only putting out devices that can last the most extreme conditions, but also adding features that you will find nowhere else.
Whether you are a professional that needs specialized tools in your smartphone, or a recreational camper and hiker, the Doogee phones have that little extra that will provide useful or completely replace something else you’d otherwise take in your backpack. Like the infrared Night Vision camera we first saw on the Doogee V30T a couple of years ago.
Now, the camera is a staple on most of Doogee’s top phones. But the new V Max series innovates further. Meet the Doogee V Max Play and V Max LR.
Doogee V Max Play
Cast a movie on any surface
The Doogee V Max Play comes with a built-in DLP imaging projector, with high contrast and auto-correction to provide a vivid, sharp image no matter what surface you cast on. Find a nice flat rock, or cast on the side of the tent — your entire camping party with an evening of entertainment by the fire, with your favorite movies or shows loaded into the phone.

The projector is quick and easy to set up, with autofocus working for you. But you can opt for manual focus to achieve an extra sharp image and compensate for whatever surface you are casting on. Doogee’s IceWing Smart Cooling combines a sheet of thermal copper with intelligent fans to ensure that the phone runs cool while projecting.
The V Max LR variant replaces the projector for a precise, 40-meter laser rangefinder. Whether you are working in an indoor area or making plans over a wide-open construction site, the Doogee v Max LR can measure length, area, or even volume with a single press. The laser works with a resolution of 1 mm and an accuracy of ±3–15mm, so you can plan your layouts confidently.
As you’ve noticed from the photos, the V Max phones above look similar. They are sub-divisions of the V Max model, so they share a lot of features aside from the highly-specialized ones.
OK, so what is a Doogee V Max phone?
A tough phone with an aluminum alloy back, armored edges, grip textures and ergonomic shape, and the ability to survive dangerous drops, terrain, and conditions.
The Doogee V Max is rated IP68/IP69K, which are the highest ingress protection ratings a phone can achieve, and cover the military 810G standard for durability under extreme environmental conditions.
Light up the night
Campers and trekkers don’t make due with flimsy LED flashlights. The Doogee V Max phones come with strong, dual 1,200 lumen camping lights that can illuminate up to 8 meters away. They have 5 brightness levels, and can be activated in three modes — normal, flashing, SOS.
Speaking of nighttime — the Doogee V Max also comes with a 20 MP Night Vision camera that we mentioned at the start of the article. It also has a 200 MP main camera, 8 MP ultra-wide, and 32 MP selfie camera.
Over the top battery
If you need a phone as rugged as the Doogee V Max, you probably also need it to last for quite a while without the convenience of a power outlet near you. Well, the lights are kept on by a huge 20,500 mAh battery — about four times the size of regular modern flagships.
This battery can last you for days, and you can even use it as a power bank to charge other devices on the go. If you only have a short time to charge back up, the 45 W fast charger will ensure that you can get a lot of percentages back in no time.
The phone’s heart is a 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300, ensuring efficient and smooth operation whenever you need it.
Gear up for adventure
The Doogee V Max Play VIP edition comes with a magnetic projection stand and magnetic Bluetooth speaker, so you can set up your outdoors theater quickly and efficiently.
Aside from that, you can grab the Doogee V Max Play or V Max LR in either Armor Black or Battle Rust. They are available right now, follow the link below to learn more about the V Max family or get yourself a new super-rugged, super-useful adventurer phone!
