Samsung to launch Galaxy Note 8 Lineage 2 Revolution Edition on November 16

Lineage 2 Revolution has one of the biggest MMORPG universes on mobile devices, which is probably the main reason it became so popular in Asia. Now, Samsung and Net Marble Games, in partnership with SK Telecom carrier, announced they will launch a special edition Galaxy Note 8 aimed at fans of the mobile game.

Dubbed Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Lineage 2 Revolution Edition, the smartphone will be available for pre-order in South Korea starting November 15 for the equivalent of $1,190. The phablet will hit the shelves one day later, on November 16, so customers who pre-order this special edition Note 8 won't have to wait too long for the device.

For the price paid, customers will get a Samsung DeX and an HDMI cable for free. Also, some Lineage Game collectibles will be included in the bundle as well.

According to Samsung, just 10,000 units of this special edition Galaxy Note 8 will be released on the market. SK Telecom is supposed to offer some goodies to Lineage 2 Revolution players who purchase the smartphone such as a Nemonic Printer and an Allo Battery set. Finally, some discounts on a Samsung battery pack an Alcantara Note 8 cover will be offered too.

It's marketing. It's supposed to be gimmicky. You have to reach certain demographics just to sell your products.

You’re right. In Asia, where gaming is a huge deal, this is a gimmick they’d be fools not to tap into.
