Samsung introduces 18 new AR Emoji sticker expressions doubling the total to 36

Samsung today, announced it is adding 18 new stickers to the AR Emoji feature available on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+. The update to the camera app, which contains the new stickers, is found in the Galaxy Apps Store under the "My apps" section. With the new stickers, the number of sticker expressions available to AR Emoji users doubles from 18 to 36. Another 18 will be added in the coming months. We might have forgotten all the math we learned at school, but that should mean that 54 stickers will be available by later this year.

The stickers automatically appear when an AR Emoji is created. And that happens in the camera app when you select "AR Emoji mode" and tap on "Create My Emoji." The phone does all off the heavy lifting including the creation of the AR Emoji (which can be tweaked by you), and the creation of the stickers. The stickers can be added into a message directly from the handset's QWERTY keyboard, or by using 'copy and paste' to place them into a message.

And while no one can accuse Samsung of running a Mickey Mouse operation, the feature also allows users to create AR Emoji of certain Disney characters. Last week, Samsung added The Incredibles to a list that currently includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck.

AR Emoji and the iPhone X’s Animoji are a lot of fun.

Apparently, the consensus among our tech brethren is that all forms of emoji are for children. Then again, these are the same people fighting over which software iteration is the "best", so maybe they aren't to be taken too seriously themselves.

Not just children. But, hipsters also.

Yep because AR Emoji like a toy, a cartoon character. Apple and Xiaomi did much better job!

I really don't understand what is wrong with Samsung people, instead of adding usefull stuff like Gestures or Camera updates they keep on adding useless things like AR emoji Stickers.

Why keep adding gestures and features to an already clunky UI? Samsung devices are known among tech enthusiasts to degrade in fluidity after several months.

oh...what irony...iphone degrades over a few months too and doesn't tell you about it.

Sorry but my sister is still using her iPhone 5S and it runs better than my fathers Note 8 lmao.

and i have the iphone x and it crashes from time to time. whats your point? they are both clunky.

My point? The 5S, a phone older than my gramma, runs smoother than the Note 8, a phone with 742938 gigs of RAM and their flagship device. Phone degradation is my point, and Samsung is notorious for it.

Samsungs version of Emoji looks like those terrible sticker packs that you would download for AIM back in the 2000's. They lag in animation, are clunky, and of low graphical quality with sharp 2d edges lol.
