Samsung Gear VR is official, brings Oculus-powered virtual reality to mobile

Long in the rumors, Samsung's virtual reality headset, the Gear VR, is an offical matter of fact. A result of a "deep and integrated partnership" with Oculus, leader of virtual reality technology developments, the Gear VR is described by Oculus CTO and video game legend John Carmack as "a virtual reality headset with world class resolution and performance, all on a completely mobile platform. The headset makes use of the Galaxy Note 4's 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display for mobile visuals, and is built with soft, flexible cushioning and lightweight materials. The goggles will be available in White, with market availability and pricing to be announced shortly.
