Samsung Galaxy S7 sales to reach 25 million units by the end of June
In early April, only several weeks after Samsung released the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge around the world, it was clear that the two smartphones would be more successful than the S6 and S6 edge: Samsung had already sold about 10 million Galaxy S7 units. While sales aren't that strong now, things are still going pretty well in this regard.

According to two different reports from Korea, combined Galaxy S7 and S7 edge sales could reach 25 million units by the end of this month. Reportedly, Korean industry watchers - quoted by Yonhap News - believe that the Galaxy S7 family is successful thanks to three major factors: aggressive marketing, early launch, and, last but definitely not least, decent quality.

While the S7 and S7 edge don't look too different compared to the Galaxy S6 series, they come with important new features and improvements, including dust- and water-resistance, microSD card support, and a faster, enhanced rear camera. Call it incremental upgrade if you will, but it certainly seems to work great for Samsung.

Korean publication Pulse News notes that the Galaxy S7 edge is outselling the regular Galaxy S7. Since the S7 edge is the more expensive variant among the two handsets, Samsung is expected to see high profit margins when the second quarter of the year ends (on June 30).

In the second half of the year, which starts in July, Galaxy S7 sales are likely going to decline. However, Samsung is getting ready to release a new high-end smartphone - the Galaxy Note 6 / Note 7 - which should hit the market in August, and is expected to help the company churn out healthy profits. All in all, 2016 could end as a very good year for Samsung, at least when it comes to smartphone sales.

I really don't see Apple or Samsung or any other OEM top their best sale numbers. I will skip this years iPhone and my Nexus does a perfect job for the time.

Yeah, that is highly unlikely. This is not a few years ago when the industry was seeing explosive growth. We may soon be at a point where the industry begins to contract.

So essentially Google gets a big slice of that Samsung pie if only s7 edge ran windows 10 mobile then it could truly be something more than Google man child trapped in basement handcuffed because that's Google saving grace.

If it ran Win 10 Mobile, no one would buy it. BTW, do you speak English or is that some other language.

It's not that surprising honestly. The S7 pairing, while beautiful and extremely powerful, don't offer much over cheaper options within the ecosystem. And considering that YoY sales are falling across the board, it seems people aren't buying all that hard on new hardware. The only reason it's reached these numbers are the early launch ahead of the other major OEMs, and several extremely provocative deals offering extras.

The reason it is selling well in a difficult market with many superb phones being released at very reasonable prices is, they are the best phones in the world at the moment. The Edge being model especially as it is a little different and original and with a superb design that packs more into a very compact design.

I wouldn't say those are the only reasons, but yeah. On the whole you are right.

They want expandable memory which the S6 lacked. Plus, the S6 wasn't really an upgrade compared to the S5

Very interesting that the Edge is outselling the regular version, even at a more expensive price.

I think it sells because of the comfort. it's very easy to grip when you put a dbrand skin on it's slippery back. I always saw small people having a hard time holding their iphone 6s plus. With s7 edge, it doesn't feel like a phablet at all and I can text with one hand on it.
