Samsung intros the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge 128 GB in select markets

Samsung intros the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge 128 GB in select markets
Samsung today officially announced a seventh color variant of its Galaxy S7 edge smartphone: Black Pearl. The new model comes only in a 128 GB flavor, and will be sold "in select markets" starting tomorrow, December 9. As reported yesterday, one of these markets is South Korea, Samsung's home country.

Since the recently unveiled Blue Coral Galaxy S7 edge can be bought in the US, the brand new Black Pearl version might also be available stateside at some point. However, for now, we don't have confirmation on this. In any case, because we're talking about a 128 GB handset, you should expect this to be a bit more expensive than the standard 32 GB model that's currently being sold everywhere.

The Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge is not too different from the Black Onyx variant of the phone that's been released in the first half of the year, but it's a bit glossier, and, according to Samsung, it "radiates quality and luxury." We'd say this is a worthy alternative to Apple's Jet Black iPhone 7 (assuming, of course, that you don't mind the major differences between Android and iOS). Take a look at the new Galaxy S7 edge below and let us know if you like what you're seeing.

Before people saying Samsung copies Apple, you have to realize Samsung invent deep black device first. But of course Samsung won't release his invention until Apple does it :) /S

You mean like this very black s3? -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_Tc1HYKfaM How about this black edition of the S4 vs the Black Mist which was more like a charcoal grey?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYOr9rEeLac Or how about this glassy, glossy, black S6 and s6 Edge conceptshttp://i-cdn.phonearena.com/images/articles/168051-image/Galaxy-S6-and-S6-Edge-3D-design-renders.jpg Even the Black Note 5, has that shiny glossy deep black look toohttp://edge.alluremedia.com.au/m/g/2015/08/note5review1.jpg Oh and I bet the Samsung's wont scratch with your fingernail like the phoenix 7 does. #Justsayin So who is following who? Apple's phones have always been black and white. All they did was using a shinier finish. which is garbage because it scratches. Yet the Note 5 looks the same with the glass is clean and shiny and it wont scratch as easy.

Any s7 edge is a worthy alternative to the iPhone, they're much better, and better looking phones. The iPhone loads games faster, but that's about it.

And isn't a 3 year old design. Next year will be a 4 year old design. Sad really that Apple no longer pushes other OEMs to challenge them with hardware.

Ditto. I remmebr for 9 years when living in Florida how for the first year, Christmas just didnt feel liek Christmas without snow. It felt so weird wearing shorts on Christmas day. But being back home in Chicago, with cold and snow, just makes the holiday season look and feel like the pictures and videos we see. Knowing you live in a warm climate. I wish you more than a Happy Holiday...I wish you some snow and a bit of chill, just to make it even more holiday feeling. Hopeful you all get some very nice presents. If you need some snow, I can FedEx you some Priority Overnight. Once you receive, you just have to refrigerate it again ;-)

Jack Sparrow will love this phone. If this will be as gorgeous as the black backing of injustice edition, this color will be a hit.

But in select markets, so not universally available. That's quite a bummer.

S7 edge jet black XD. Looks sexy, but Samsung should add more 2 gigs of ram and remove SD card since it's 128GB.
