Samsung Galaxy J7 Star coming soon to T-Mobile, likely for under $300

Shortly after launching the Samsung Galaxy J3 Star, T-Mobile is now getting ready to release another Samsung phone from the 2018 J-series. Called Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, the new handset is larger and better equipped than the J3, which means it'll also be more expensive.

T-Mobile says the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star is "coming soon," and the phone's home screen likely reveals its release date: July 13 (next Friday). Since the J3 Star is sold for $175, we assume the new J7 will cost more than $200, but less than $300. Sprint and Boost Mobile are already selling a version of this handset (called Galaxy J7 Refine), asking $288 and $229, respectively, for it.

Running Android 8 Oreo, the Galaxy J7 Star sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a classic 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, and employs a pretty generic design that Samsung's been using for years on its less advanced phones. The handset is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor, further featuring a 3300 mAh battery, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of expandable internal memory. The Galaxy J7 Star also offers a 13 MP front-facing camera and a 13 MP rear camera.

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star is not made to turn heads, but it's an option to consider if you aren't willing to pay more than $300 for a new T-Mobile smartphone.
