Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) spotted in benchmark before going official

Another affordable Samsung smartphone is about to make its debut in the United States, the Galaxy J7 (2017). This isn't the first time we report about the unannounced handset, but another confirmation of some of its specs can't hurt.

According to Evan Blass, the Galaxy J7 (2017) will be picked up by AT&T, U.S. Cellular and Verizon in the United States, but we're likely to see this one being released globally in the weeks to follow.

The recent listing at GFXBench, a benchmark app that aggregates performance scores, reveals the Galaxy J7 (2017) will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

It will sport a rather modest 5.5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. A secondary camera in the front with allow users to take selfies.

There's no word on price and availability, but according to GFXBench, the smartphone will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. Here is hoping for a competitive price, especially since in the U.S. there's a fierce battle at the low and mid-tier.
