Rogers pushes its new device Reservation System to potential Apple iPhone buyers
Canadian carrier Rogers sent a text out to its customers on Friday, pushing its new device Reservation System. Telling its customers that they could be "one of the first in line in Canada for the next iPhone as soon as it's available", Rogers told those interested in the 5th generation Apple iPhone that they could put down a refundable deposit of $40 (plus taxes) to reserve a place in line. Unfortunately, those clicking on the link provided in the text message by Rogers, are finding that the page is not yet up.

This all leads to the idea that Rogers will be getting the next Apple iPhone, although no information on pricing and availability has been released by the Canadian carrier. The carrier was the first in Canada to exclusively offer the Apple iPhone 3G back in 2008. Rogers spokesman Chris Clarke said that it is the carrier's policy not to talk about devices it has yet to announce. The Text? Clarke says that it was made simply to push Rogers National Reservation System. He went on to recommend that Rogers customers sign up at MyRogers to "take advantage of the system when we announce popular devices".
