Report: This year, Samsung wanted to sell 100 million Samsung Galaxy S4 units and 40 million slates
Samsung allegedly set some lofty goals for itself this year. The Korean OEM wanted to ring up 100 million Samsung Galaxy S4 units and 40 million tablets in 2013. While we're not sure what the year's final tally will be for the flagship Android phone, a published report out of Korea cites a Samsung insider who says that the company has sold 40 million tablets in 2013.

Samsung has been led in the fourth quarter by the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1(2014 edition). Overall, it has sold 12 million tablets in the final three months of the year. In the first quarter, the company sold 9.1 million tablets, decreasing to 8.4 million units in the second quarter before a strong rebound to 10.5 million slates sold in Q3. It all adds up to 40 million tablets sold this year.

With Samsung Galaxy S4sales dropping off as the year progressed, Samsung is believed to be focusing on tablets next year and expects to sell 100 million units in 2014.
