Price of Samsung's hi-tech Galaxy Z Fold 5 takes a major dive on Amazon
Perhaps the only fault we can find in Samsung's impressive Galaxy Z Fold 5 is its high price. Granted, it's not just a phone, it's also a tablet and a compact PC, but one cannot help but balk at its base price of $1,799.99. But then again, it's hard to find an alternative with the same fit and finish and polished software experience as the Fold 5. If your heart has been begging you to get the phone, Amazon has an incredible deal going on on it.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a book-type foldable with a 7.6-inch 120Hz inner screen and a 6.2-inch 120Hz outer screen. It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy which remains unrivalled in performance when it comes to the best Android phones of 2023. The device has a total of five cameras and packs a 4,400mAh battery.

The Fold 5 is not a device you buy for the specs though. It's the form factor and the user interface that make using it an altogether different experience compared to conventional phones.

When unfolded, it's essentially a tablet, with a taskbar at the bottom and the capability to use multiple apps at the same time. That's something power users who like to do multiple things at once will appreciate.

The device has a sturdy hinge that lets you position it at different angles. You can even use it in a laptop orientation and type out documents while in your car or on a flight.

To go a step further, you can wirelessly connect it to a keyboard and a monitor for a desktop-like experience. It's only when you discover the true potential of the Fold 5 that you realize that it's worth its price tag.

But that realization doesn't make money magically appear in your pocket. So if you really want to get the Fold 5, Amazon has knocked $300 off its price. Admittedly, that still doesn't make it affordable, but for a device that's not only great as a smartphone but can also transform into a tablet and a laptop, the price is justified.
