Plethora of Sony Xperia Z4 images surface
Last night, we brought you the news that Sony had finally pulled the trigger and introduced its newest flagship handset. The Sony Xperia Z4 is more evolutionary than revolutionary, even with a new "cooking mode" that lets you snap enhanced photos of your meals (no doubt a nod to Instagram users).

This afternoon, we have a whole slew of new images showing off Sony's latest Xperia pride and joy. The Xperia Z4 features a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 and will be powered by the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810. 3GB of RAM is on board along with 32GB of native storage. A 128GB capacity microSD slot is at the ready, waiting to expand the amount of usable memory. Back and front-facing snappers weigh in at 20.7MP and 5.1MP, respectively. The latter offers the ability to shoot wide-angle selfies. A 2930mAh battery powers the phone, which has Android 5.0 pre-installed.

The Sony Xperia Z4 will be available this summer in Japan. Another flagship model will be unveiled by Sony by the end of next month. In the meantime, check out some images of the handset by clicking on the slideshow below.

Thanks for the tip!

While i do feel the same, i believe this is still a much better phone for those who don't want an S6 than the m9. Looks tons better than the m9, better screen and camera. Sony should introduce something new with the Z5, no one is asking them to completely ditch their current design language, but there is lots of places where the current design can get improved.

Just pisses me off how they use the IMX220 once again, yet they let some next startup called LeTV take their IMX230. Sony really needs to reevaluate their priorities. Agree it's better than the M9 tho.

Metal back to act as a heatsink for the dreaded Qualcomm 810 overheating shiz then? Definitely using Z2 glass though. Most definitely a step backwards and probably good its not a global release

So what? Do you really think they're going to change the design, camera, UI and put a 2k display in one months time without any leaks prior? Lmao

If there is an international version, they probably started working on it a while ago.

The only difference between this and the international version will be the LTE bands.

I like the new metal sides. They really stand out compared to the Z3 ones.

Z3 matte finish has a more classier textured finish imo. z4 glossy nylon corners don't flow with the shiny metal. Only design improvement in see from z4 is speaker slits.

The speaker slits are not improvement. they're getting back to z2's speaker design as they reallized that z3's speaker slits ruined the design....

Technology is slowing down. It has been since the beginning of time. There's not leaps and bounds, there's not massive breakthroughs any longer. Technology leaps like going from horse to train, what used to take weeks done in 2 days. That was technology. Kids complaints are the 810 runs hotter then the 805..lol..

True. The real breakthrough was 2014. Now we'll see only slight improvements and a better overall package meaning different features put in one giving a better all-around experience, this was already offered with the Z3.

I like how the sides looks flatter than xperia z3 and the discreet slits front facing speakers placement is just right. Otherthan that, it is pretty much the same in the design category with a minor specs bumps and decrease in battery capacity. Still hoping that the international version have fingerprint scanner built-in into power button, 4GB RAM, Sony Exmor IMX240 sensor with OIS and metal back unibody as previously leaked.
