November Android security update available on Pixel and some Nexus devices
The Pixel series of smartphones have received the latest Android security update, this one dated November 5th, 2018. The OTA update resolves 17 issues that needed to be fixed on the OG Pixel series, the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 3 models. Also receiving the update are certain Nexus handsets and the Essential Phone. All of these devices also run Android 9 Pie.

Additionally Google's monthly Pixel/Nexus bulletin notes that the update includes enhancements made to the picture-in-picture feature found with the Android 8.0 update. This allows users to watch video while multitasking with another app on the screen. Also stabilized are some of the notification capabilities found on the Pixel handsets. And the Google quick search bar on the Pixel and Pixel 2 units now include the Assistant logo, which when tapped, provides a quick short cut to Google Assistant from the phone's home screen. This is a feature that comes out of the box with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL models.

Besides the Pixel models and the Essential Phone, the November Security update is heading to the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X. If you don't want to wait for the update on your Pixel handset, you can try to manually update the phone by going to Settings > System > Advanced > System update.
