Picture of Acer's rumored Chrome OS powered tablet grabbed from now deleted tweet

Just the second day into 2018, we told you that Samsung was allegedly working on a Chrome OS powered tablet to be powered by a high end Intel processor. But Sammy's Chrome OS powered slate might not end up being the first such device to hit the market. An image taken from a now deleted tweet shows an Acer tablet that is said to be running on Chrome OS. The picture was snapped by someone attending the Bett education and technology show in London, and tweeted yesterday.

Google has dropped hints in the past about allowing manufacturers to use Chrome OS on a variety of form factors, including tablets. We could see the Acer Chrome OS tablet make its introduction during Google I/O 2018, which will take place between May 8th and May 10th later this year.

While we don't have any information about the tablet in the picture, we can see the Acer brand underneath the display on the bottom bezel. Supposedly, the tablet works with a Samsung Staedtler stylus, and the size of the display looks to be in the 8 to 10-inches range.

The removal of the tweet can be seen as a sign that the photo captured something real that Acer doesn't want anyone to see at the moment.
